We leave Bora Bora today 🙁
It’s been an amazing place. Certainly no bargain price-wise (Five Star Life on this leg, for sure), but worth it for a special occasion or once-in-a-lifetime experience. The Conrad property is fantastic, the service is first rate and the food is quite good overall. Minor issues with some hidden fees (boat taxi to and from the airport), the price of lunches ($35 burger?) and the Tahitian BBQ from a few nights ago, but most of these are just a result of this being a very remote island and very high expectations. At check out we were able to negotiate to only pay for two of the four Tahitian BBQ’s, so even that complaint was dealt with satisfactorily.
We would definitely recommend the Conrad to anyone visiting Bora Bora!
Not much action today, other than getting ready to travel and actually traveling. The airport water shuttle took us back to the airport after lunch. Flight was at 2:10 and got us into Tahiti at around 3:00. A quick taxi to the Manava resort in Tahiti and we were almost done with the trip!
The Manava has a great pool with views of Moorea and is perfectly situated to see the sunset (one of the best of the trip). Dinner was at an old favorite, the Blue Banana and the waiter even let us pop a bottle of the wine we’d brought with us from the US (the last of the wine we bought). From there it was back to the hotel and off to bed.
The flight back to Los Angeles comes much too early, but is uneventful. Glad to be home, but will miss our amazing time in French Polynesia. Until next time!
